The purpose of the Illini Challenge
• The purpose of the ILLINI CHALLENGE is to get Illinois high school football players early exposure to the recruiting process. It is our desire to give Illinois high school football players the best and earliest opportunity to gain a football scholarship. Team First has the desire to identify the best 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade football players in the state of Illinois.
• The ILLINI CHALLENGE will give you the opportunity to test and compete against the football players in the state of Illinois, thus giving you the opportunity to gauge where you are as a football player.
The Illini Challenge
• The ILLINI CHALLENGE allows individuals the opportunity to participate in the following events: 40 yard dash, shuttle run, L drill, vertical jump, and broad jump. They will also participate in speed /agility drills, position-specific drills, and 1 on 1 competition. Selected players will be asked to participate in 7on 7 drills after the competition.
• Results of the ILLINI CHALLENGE will be sent out to every university/college in the state of Illinois that plays football (NCAA Division I, Division IAA, Division II, Division III DII, NAIA and Junior College. The information included will be combine stats, school, and address information. This information will allow colleges to enter your name in their recruiting database if they deem you a prospect .
• In 2010 the ILLINI CHALLENGE will be
held at 2 sites, 1 in April at Edwardsville High School
and the other in May at Lincoln-Way West High School. The
ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE will be held in July at a Division I
university. The ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE is an
invitation only event.
ILLINI
CHALLENGE offers an opportunity to:
• Compete against the best 8th, 9th, 10th, and
11th graders in the state of Illinois
• To learn what
combine testing is all about,
• To showcase your talents and ability.
• To compete against athletes in your
grade and class.
• National football
recruiting analyst Tom Lemming and Illinois football recruiting analyst Edgy Tim will be invited to attend the ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE. Top athletes will be profiled and written about on a number of websites.
Facts about the 2010 ILLINI CHALLENGE
• The ILLINI CHALLENGE is for current football 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders.
• Results will be sent to every university/college in the state of Illinois that plays football
• ( NCAA Division I, Division IAA, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College) . Results will also be as sent to national recruiting football analyst Tom Lemming, and Illinois football analyst EdgyTim. All results will be posted on line.
• A chance to perform for a possible invitation to the ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE.
• Top performers at the ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE will be profiled on the Team First website.
• The top junior and sophomore at the ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE will receive free Team First Marketing for one year. The top freshman and 8th grader at the ELITE ILLINI CHALLENGE will receive an invitation to attend the 3 day Team First Football Academy in Greenville, IL.
• The United States Army, Russell Athletics and Baden are sponsors of the ILLINI CHALLENGE.
